GET TO THE SHOW EARLY!
I thought I had plenty of time last Thursday night in Rochester, Michigan, but as I walked in to the Meadow Brook Music Festival, I could hear Ray and the band already playing. And by that time, the good seats on the lawn were already taken. I struggled in vain to find a good spot to watch, but I was simply too late.
They sounded fantastic, but it would've been much better had I staked out a good spot early.
Don't make the same mistake I did, folks.
Please GET THERE EARLY!
You'll be glad you did.
As for David Gray, meh ...
Next time I'll catch Ray when he's headlining.

Get to the show early it will be worth it. My wife and I went to the show in Council Bluffs we got there at 2:40. We were able to hear Ray do his soundcheck with just his guitar. It was like our own personal concert. I was a huge fan before, but after this concert I was even more blown away by Ray and the band. Just an amazing concert. I don't know how many songs gave me the chills.. Henry Nearly Killed me (It's a Shame) blew me away at awesome it sounded live. Jolene was amazing.. Overall it may be my favorite concert I have ever been to.. David Gray was awesome too don't get me wrong. But I think Ray stole the show.
Agree here in Iowa. We pulled into the parking area just to hear Ray kick off Repo Man. At that point we realized we were duped! Totally thought that he was headlining, and not David Gray. A large part of the audience left after he performed because they thought the same thing too. It was a huge disappointment. And when we realized he wasn't going to come back on with David Gray, another large wave of people left sad to not hear him come back on. If he didn't come back thinking the crowed wasn't interested, it isn't the truth!!!!!!!!! Truth is we came there to see RAY!!! and Gray was just icing on the cake. Please know that Iowa/Nebraska folks came to see you!!
