Music For My Soul
I can't express what this music has done for me! I have had my fair share of trials and tribulations over the years. When I first heard the raw lyrics of this man, I realized he was vocalizing so many things that I was not able to. He has inspired me to pick up a guitar and begin to attempt to translate my pain into music others can relate to. Although, seemingly simplistic, this man and his music has changed me exponentially! Thanks!

So, true, MichelleJustice. Ray resonates with me as well and strikes me way down deep. Having lost the love of my life to cancer, I find solace playing "Empty" on repeat crying with glass in hand. Songs like "Lesson Learned," "Burn," and "You Can Bring Me Flowers" grip me with their insight and plaintiveness. But then I can dance around my house late at night listening to "Henry Nearly Killed Me" remembering joy. I so wish Ray would publish "Please,' "Roses and Cigarettes," "One Lonesome Saddle," so we can savor them legitimately. Thank you, Ray, for giving my sorrow a place to infiltrate and my delight a way to venture out.
