I have absolutely loved Ray's solo music, and it is amazing how wonderful this band is and the energy they bring to their music as a musically inspired crew!
I wish they were performing somewhere more affordable in Vancouver... the Orpheum is so beyond my student budget .
I am so sad, because I have waited and waited for Ray to come to Vancouver, and now I can't afford to see him! Any insider ideas?!!!
Somewhere I can find student- price tix? ha...
maybe I will fundraise, it's still a few months away!... Where there is love for great music, there is a way!
I remember the first time I heard one of Ray's songs... 2005, I was living in Geneva Switzerland and some friends I had met introduced me to the song "Shelter". I was so touched by the honesty in his lyrics and the emotion in his voice I was instantly a fan. Throughout my years I have remained a true fan and have been to many shows.
My fiancee and I recently welcomed our beautiful daughter Lena into our lives and things have been busy to say the least, but I have been making time almost daily to play the guitar and sing for my little one. Many of the songs I play for her, are songs written by Ray that I've learned.
As a gift for my birthday on Sept 2nd, Steve bought us tickets to the show in Vancouver. I am so looking forward to relaxing with the love of my life and listening to the wonderful music that has been with us over the years....I have a small request...I was hoping that Ray could wish me a happy birthday at the Orpheum show...it would mean the world to me. I know it is unusual for someone to make such a request for themselves but I thought it wouldn't hurt to try. Either way I know I will love the show and that it'll be a very special birthday!

So I have no idea if this will be read by a promotor, the band members, their family... etc.
BUT i have a small request. I am take my closest friend to this concert for her birthday. She and I share a mutual respect and absolute shameless love of music! this band without a doubt is one of them.
So back to my request. I have recently come back to BC, when I did my friend and her partner had just learned that their adoption was approved. They had tried and wanted children for so long... and here he was this Miracle child. He has brought magic into all of our worlds, and she, my friend truly deserves to be blessed with him.
Please, if there is any chance at all, a small - shout out to wish Sharon a happy birthday, and/or congrats on baby Joe - who, is the apple of my eye as well. This is a friend who has saved me from myself and is one of the kindest warmest people i know. It would rock her world if you could. but... NO pressure! xox.. see ya Friday - we'll be the two crazy 40+ chicks rippin off our matronly bras for the band!!!
